Customer Advocate at Ellislab
I'm very excited to announce that I've been hired part time with EllisLab, creators of ExpressionEngine, as a Customer Advocate. My role here is to provide technical support for developers and users of ExpressionEngine. This is really fantastic as I am a big fan of the company and software and prefer to do all of my own client work in ExpressionEngine.

EECI 2011 - my thoughts
I just got back from attending the EECI conference this past weekend. The conference was both informative and educational. There were a few things I would like to change, but more on that later. In the photo above you can see the line up for beer at the end of day.

Updating EE: add-ons before or after?
I was thinking today about the process of updating ExpressionEngine, specifically the 2.x branch. Tomorrow I'll be upgrading a large client site from 2.1.4 beta to the latest version 2.2.2 and am trying to decide what the best approach is. Of course I'll be following the docs for how to do it.
More specifically is it better to update add-ons before updating EE itself or should one wait and see if there are problems post update and then update any add-ons that need updating. This site is using a fair number of third party add-ons including ... Read More
